When Brian came into power the entire country was overrun with the Danes.

Brian banished the Danes restored the religious houses restored the Irish nobility to their righful patramonies.
He opened schools and buit roads and engaged in other pursuits to create prosperity in the population of the natives.

Brian lead an army to Cinel Conaill in Donegal and Cenel Eogan and demanded hostages.

In 1010 an army lead by Brian to Mag Corran and he took with him Mael Ruanaid Ua Mael Doraid tigerna of Cinel Conall as hostage and him being in obedience to Ceann Corad [Kincora].

Murchad m Brian with Munster Leinster and Suineill and Flaithbeartach m Muircheartach tigerna of Ailech and their soldiers of the north went to plunder Cinel Luigdeach [O Donnell] carrying of 300 cattle.

Donall m Brian m Ceinneidig son of the Irish king Brian died.

Flaithbeartach Ua Neill went to Dun Eathach burning this fort demolishing the town and took pledges from Niall.

In 1011 an outbreak of mumps at Ard Macha from Halloween to May and students died of it and some bishops.

Flaithbeartach ua Neill led an army into Cinel Conaill to Mag Cedne took a prey of cows and a second time to Strand of Sligo.
Some were lost to this raid.

While they were occupied Maelachy led an army into Tir Eogain where they burned the plain of the Two Forks.
They preyed the country to TealachOg in Tyrone dungannon and then went home to Meath.
Flaithbeartach Ua Neill than plundered Ard Ulad in Down taking prisoners and cattle without number.

The Battle of Mullach was fought where the Ulaid under Niall m Cutuinne were defeated.

In 1012 The kings daughter died.
She as the daughter of Congallach m Maelmitig a former king.

Donnall the Cat roydamna of Connact was killed by MaelRuanaid Maoldoraig in his territory of Mag Aei Toldg.
He than plundered and burned after he had defeated the Connact men.

Gailanga was plundered by Niall Oruaire son of Nalggarb Ua Ciarda lord of Cairbre but some of Maelsechnaills men overtook them while drunk and gave them battle.
Many lords were slain in this batttle including Donnchada m Maelsechnall.
This brought out the father himself and he overtook the Carbre forces and they ran leaving there spoils behind for Mael to collect.

This battle is the first mention in the Annals of the 'drink problem' among christianized Irish as it still exists today.

Pre Christain Etrainn and Eolasas made no consealment of drunkenness and its affronteries to mans survival and his dignity.

Mael than took his army into the gallaib country and burned the fruits of the country to Edal [Howth].

Sitric and Maelmorda his father now overtook one of Maels party and killed 200 of them along with Maels son Flann.
This battle was fought at Draignen on a Monday near Dublin.

Flaithebeartach of Ailech lead an army to Maigen to attack Mael but Mailsechnaill gave him the hill.
Murchad m Brian plundered Leinster to Glen da Lough and Killmainham [Cill Maigneamn].
They burned the entire country side and carried of cattle and prisoners.

Gallaib arrived in Munster burned Corcach.
They were than killed by Cahal m Donnall m Cubdaboireann.

Brian lead an army to Ath an Chairthin, Ford of the Rock , camped and laid seige to the Gallaib for 3 months.

He erected fortresses during this period including the fort of Killaloe[Kincora]The Cathal Cinn Corad consisting of a city and other forts on the Shannon Islands.

Brian was at war with the gallaib and the Leinstermen and they with him and he camped to defend Munster and plundered Leinster to Ath Cliath.

Mael meanwhile plundered the Conaills that had broken Patricks crozier.

In 1013 An army taken to south Ireland by Donnchad m Brian. He won this battle and took hostages for Dal Cais.

Gallaib and Leinster went with an army to Meath and Brega and plundered St Feichis sancturary in Louth taking cattle and captives.

King of Ireland Brian Cenneidig m Lorcan and Maelsechnaill m Donnall King of Tara took and army to Ath Cliath.

All the gallaib of west Europe assembled 10,000 mailed warriors, and a great battle fought on the Friday before Easter at which Brian the monarch was killed.
The Augustus of the west of Europe.
He was 88 years old.
All annals agree to this but Ulster which claims he was born in 941 and was therfore 73 years old.
Murchad his son 63 years old also killed.
His grandson 15 also found drowneded at the Battle of Clontarb.

Many more of Brians people were killed here and the gallaib, what was left of them ,fled into the water and either drowned or were able to escape in their ships.

Maelseachnaill struck for Tuldainn where Maelmorda m Murchad m Finn King of Leinster was killed along with many of the nobels of south Leinster.
The gallaib were also slain in great numbers with their lords.

The body of Brain was carried by the learned men and Mailmuire m Eochu Corrab of Patrick from the battlefield.
Brian with his dead son Murhchad and the heads of Conaig and Mochla.
These were taken to Ard Macha where they were buried in a new tomb.The bodies were waked for 12 months.
These were gathered from Sord Colum Cill.

Dunchad m Brian and his brother Tadg had a batlte between them where Donchad was defeated and many fell in this battle.

Maeldoraid and O Ruairc went into Mag Aei plundered Connact and carried of hostages.
